Zach Matthews is a partner with McMickle, Kurey & Branch. He devotes his entire practice to litigation, including motor carrier defense, premises liability, negligent security and construction defect matters. He frequently represents motor carriers or their insurers, as well as businesses in the retail and hospitality sector (including hotels, restaurants, barrooms, and large sporting venues). Mr. Matthews is an experienced trial lawyer who regularly handles civil jury trials in state and federal court.

Mr. Matthews received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2006 where he was an Articles Editor for the Tennessee Law Review. A native of Arkansas, he graduated magna cum laude from Hendrix College in 2003.

Mr. Matthews serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Defense Lawyer's Association, and has previously served as the Young Lawyers Chairman and chair of the Substantive Law Committee for Trucking. He is also active in the Defense Research Institute and speaks regularly to its various seminars, as well as to other national organizations.

Outside the practice of law, Mr. Matthews is an outdoorsman and a regular contributor to many national publications, including The Drake, American Angler, Fly Fisherman, Fly Rod & Reel, The Flyfish Journal, and Gray's Sporting Journal.
